Ordering
Do I need a practitioner's recommendation to order?
No. Anyone can order. Many customers come to us because their acupuncturist, herbalist or other provider suggested a formula, but you don't need a referral.
Can you put together a formula or an order that isn't on the site?
Often, yes. Email us with what you're looking for. If we can supply it, we'll send you an invoice with shipping included that you can pay online.
I'm a practitioner. Do you offer wholesale?
Wholesale pricing is available on Potionista products only (our tinctures and Lady Magic), through Potionista. All other products on this site are sold at retail.
Using our products
How much should I take?
Follow the directions on your bottle, or the directions your healthcare provider gave you. We can't give personalized dosing advice by email. Herbs are traditionally taken consistently over time, so finding the amount that's right for you, with your provider's guidance, and taking it regularly is key.
Can I take these while pregnant or nursing, or with my medications?
Please check with your own healthcare provider first. Herbs can interact with medications and aren't right for everyone. Lady Magic's label specifically says it isn't intended for pregnant or nursing women or adolescents.
Do the tinctures contain alcohol?
Yes. Our tinctures are made with organic cane spirits and distilled water, about 50% alcohol. We recommend always adding your dose to a little warm water or tea, or a beverage of your choice.
Is Lady Magic taken internally?
No. Lady Magic is a topical herbal wash: use it as a wash, sitz bath, compress, douche or mouth rinse, diluted as the label directs. Please do a patch test on your inner wrist first.
My veterinarian recommended Ba Wei Di Huang Wan for my pet. Is this the right product?
This is Evergreen's Ba Wei Di Huang Wan, concentrated granules, 100 g. If it matches what your veterinarian recommended, follow their directions for your animal. We can't advise on dosing for pets.
Ingredients and quality
Are your products organic?
Potionista's tinctures and Lady Magic are made with organic ingredients (Lady Magic's organic ingredients are marked on its label). Classical formulas from Evergreen, Pine Mountain and Seven Forests are as described by their makers.
How long do they keep, and how should I store them?
Store everything in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Check the bottle for an expiration date. Tinctures generally keep for many years when stored well.
Why do the labels say these statements haven't been evaluated by the FDA?
That's required wording for herbal supplements in the US. Herbal products are regulated as dietary supplements, not as drugs, so we describe how herbs have traditionally been used rather than making medical claims.
Shipping and returns
When will my order ship?
Within 1–3 business days, from Portland, Oregon. You'll get a tracking email when it ships. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout. More in our Shipping Policy.
Can I return something?
For safety and quality, we can't take back herbal products once they've shipped. If something arrives damaged or wrong, email us within 7 days with photos and we'll make it right. See our Refund Policy.
Something's out of stock. When will it be back?
Email us and we'll let you know.
