Angelica sinensis

Angelica (Dang Gui or Tang Kuei) is highly valued for *treating female issues throughout the reproductive period of life, including regulation of menstrual cycles, and to support a woman's body during childbirth.

Dang gui is *used for both relaxing and stimulating properties, or tonifying and moving, as seen from the Chinese perspective. Chinese medicine considers the nature of the root to be pungent and bitter, and to address the Chinese diagnosis of blood deficiency, which can manifest as a wide variety of complaints including dizziness, fatigue, scanty menses, and pale complexion.

Dang gui is believed *to stimulate the circulatory system and relax the neuromuscular portions of the body. It is used to reduce stress, vitalize and strengthen the heart and circulatory system, regulate metabolism, and provide symptomatic relief to menopausal women as well. In general, Chinese medicine also used this plant to treat hypertension, migraine headaches, insomnia, anxiety and other stress related disorders.
